Finalist designation prompts introspection

Luhrsen Goldberg has been named a finalist for “Women-Owned Business” in the 2022 Greater Sarasota Chamber Frank G. Berlin. Sr., Small Business Awards. We’re honored to be recognized as one of the three top contenders in this category in a growing geographic area.

Surround yourself with the right people

Simply being recognized as a finalist, especially among such esteemed company, feels so damn good. I mean, we do what we do because we love it — but it’s flattering to be recognized by our peers as worthy of such a distinction.

As a finalist, I had the privilege of sitting with a panel of judges. In the midst of the finalist interview, I was asked some really thoughtful, and thought-provoking, questions.

One that really stuck with me, though, and one that I’ve continued to think about since, was about the atmosphere we have created within our office. Specifically, how we make sure each member of our team is appreciated, and how creating a team atmosphere impacts our clients’ experiences.

Being asked that question took me back to the beginning of my career, when, as I moved around to find the right fit, I came across varying styles of management and firm leadership. Many were a far cry from being deserving of awards. Truthfully, those experiences are how I learned what NOT to do.

My answer? When it comes down to it, it’s a matter of ego.

Awards, achievements not taken for granted

My life has taken a certain path. Part hard work, part luck, part blessing, and part divine intervention have placed me exactly where I am. The same goes for Julie.

We are not foolish enough to believe we could be successful without an incredible team with us each step of the way. We foster a sense of family, gratitude and positivity inside our walls. Consequently, we have heard multiple times from visitors and clients that the atmosphere feels comfortable and non-threatening. We’ve been told it is truly a relief to walk in and realize th’ve entered a safe, accessible space.

Einstein spoke of vibration – his theory being that what we, as humans, vibrate from within, is what we attract to us.

Part of what makes our firm so unique is that we are accessible, calm and familiar. We focus on having true relationships with our team members and clients.

I honestly can’t remember the last time a client has referred to me by my full first name rather than by my nickname, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
